Lifelong Faith Formation

Junior High

The goal of St. Peter Damian Jr. High Faith Formation program is to foster life-long faith formation for our young people.   Our program entrusts students to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.  By living out the mission of our parish, Learn, Serve, Celebrate and Share our young people will become involved and know that they are valued and contributing members of our faith community.

7th Grade
The seventh grade program is devoted to the study of God’s saving loving and to help the seventh grade students grow in their knowledge of Jesus.  We Learn about Jesus Christ, the New Testament and the seven sacraments.  We Celebrate with two grade level liturgies and two Reconciliation services.  We Share and Serve those who need our help through our annual Bake Sale, good works and prayer.  Classes meet alternating Wednesday evenings.

8th Grade
The eighth grade program is devoted to the study of God’s faithful love as it is revealed to the Church and to help the eighth grade students grow in their knowledge and love of the Church.  We Celebrate with two grade level liturgies and two Reconciliation services.  We Share and Serve those who need our help through our annual Bake Sale, good works and prayer.
Classes meet alternating Wednesday evenings.

Confirmation
The Confirmation program is approached as a Sacrament of Initiation, intimately connected with Baptism and Holy Eucharist.  Confirmation seals believers in the Spirit anointing and empowering them to carry on the mission of Jesus Christ.  We Learn the mysteries of faith, the personal way of Christian life through prayer, traditions, attitudes and values and to give witness to Jesus by living a life of faith and loving service.  We Celebrate with monthly Confirmation Candidate masses, a Retreat, and a Reconciliation service.
We Share and Serve others by attending a Feed My Starving Children session with the Confirmation class, working the annual bake sale, and by giving of one’s time and talent to our parish.
Classes meet alternating Wednesday evenings.  Students are required to attend  monthly liturgies, “Teens All In” sessions and Retreat.
