Nov. 11 - Faith Formation Bake Sale

Attention all sweet hungry appetites! Get your taste buds ready!
Our freshmen, eighth, and seventh graders are having a bake sale on November 10/11 after all the Masses. Cookies, brownies, fresh bread, and other great goodies will be available for the asking.
The money raised from the bake sale will go towards Faith Formation waivers for families that are in need. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Nov. 11 & Nov. 18 - Grieving Through the Holidays
Holidays are times of joy, laughter and family gatherings. They are also extremely difficult times for those who have lost a loved one. There is joy to the world but you are hurting. In the midst of joy, your loved one is gone and your holidays are changed forever. Come to one of the two sessions and learn how you can live with your loss, work your way through and lift your spirits. Come and seek a deeper “reason for the season.”
Both sessions are the same. Pick one that is convenient for you. Bring your family and friends who also are feeling a loss.

The Christifideles Award
This special award is given to Catholic lay people who have, by participating in parish life, demonstrated the personal and ministerial renewal called for by the papal exhortation Christifideles Laici, calling the laity to the “vocation of responsibility for the church’s life springing from the gift and mission of their baptism.”

This year’s recipients are Joel and Wendy Hendrickson, who received the Award last Sunday, Nov. 4, at Holy Name Cathedral. As a Catholic faith community, we congratulate them. We also extend many thanks to Joel and Wendy for their generosity of heart and time, and their inspiration and love of our Church family. With this award, we also thank all who share the love of Christ with others
Baby Item Drive
In an effort to show our children what it means to serve and share with others, our Faith Formation program will be conducting a Baby Item Drive during the months of October and November. The Pregnancy Center of Fox Valley, which is a prolife organization consisting of volunteers and staff working together to provide love and support to women and teenage girls who are facing a difficult time during their pregnancy, is in need of items for new mothers. Items we are collecting for the Center are diapers of any size, baby wipes, baby food and cereal, baby formula, and any new baby items which include bibs, socks, bottles, articles of clothing and baby blankets that moms can buy with their baby bucks that they earn by attending Bible and parenting classes. Let us teach our children that when we share with others it is pleasing to God.
The Social Life Ministry is busy working on events for the upcoming months, so mark you calendars and save the dates. For more information, call the Parish Office 630-837-5411 or info@stpeterdamian.org
